At Fernway Education, we are passionate about making professional development meaningful, practical, and rooted in evidence.

Our approach is underpinned by the Education Endowment Foundation’s (EEF) research into effective professional development, ensuring that everything we deliver is designed to make a measurable difference in the classroom.

Deep roots, bright futures

We work closely with schools and leaders to align our support with their unique context, priorities, and school development plan. Every CPD package is bespoke, beginning with in-class monitoring to identify strengths and development areas. This informs staff meeting sessions that are purposeful, engaging, and filled with strategies teachers can apply immediately. By connecting monitoring with staff development in a purposeful cycle, we ensure training has lasting impact rather than being a one-off event.

We also recognise the budget challenges schools face, where leaders are increasingly drawn back into classrooms and there is often limited capacity to dedicate staff solely to teaching and learning. Consultancy provides a flexible, non-committal solution — giving schools access to specialist expertise and capacity when it’s most needed. In addition to ongoing support, we also offer one-off INSET days focused on a chosen area of teaching and learning, developed in partnership with the school to meet specific needs.

Our work goes beyond classroom practice. We deliver leadership development for middle and subject leaders, teaching and learning audits, and whole-staff or leadership training on Martyn’s Law. This unique aspect of our offer is delivered in partnership with a retired counter-terrorism police officer, bringing a rare combination of educational and security expertise to schools.

At Fernway Education, our mission is simple: to empower teachers and leaders with the skills, confidence, and tools they need to raise standards, strengthen resilience, and deliver the very best outcomes for pupils.
